CASTRO VALLEY, Calif. (KTVU) - An East Bay Congressman took his town hall to this hills- hiking with constituents and answering questions.
Alameda County Representative Eric Swalwell led a group of about 100 hikers along a 2-mile hike at the Lake Chabot Regional Park.
Constituents showed up with a lot of questions on a wide variety of topics. The Congressman said Washington is consumed with the latest reports of missile tests in North Korea, Russian sanctions, and chaos in the White House, but Swalwell says voters are still deeply concerned with local issues.Read more
Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., isn't giving up his day job, but he did take a stab Saturday as a Southwest Airlines baggage handler and Starbucks barista as part of the #InYourShoes initiative.
Working with Transport Workers Union of America members at Oakland International Airport, Swalwell loaded baggage onto the airline's Boeing 737s.

California congressman Eric Swalwell rolled up his sleeves and picked up the phone Saturday to encourage voters in Georgia's 6th Congressional District to vote in Tuesday's special election for Jon Ossoff, the Democrat vying to fill the House seat left vacant when President Trump tapped Republican Tom Price to serve as his Secretary of Health and Human Services.
Ossoff, a 30-year-old documentary-film producer and former congressional aide, is up against 55-year-old Republican Karen Handel, Georgia's former secretary of state.Read more

WASHINGTON — As controversy roiled the Capitol over the latest damaging reports about the Trump administration, House Democrats launched a procedural fight Wednesday to create an independent commission into Russian interference in the U.S. election.
Representative Al Green (D-Texas) has called for impeachment proceedings to begin against President Donald Trump. His speech on the House Floor came as a group of Democrats distanced themselves from calls for impeachment.
“I rise today with a heavy heart,” Green began. “I rise today with a sense of responsibility and duty to the people who have elected me, a sense of duty to this country, a sense of duty to the Constitution of the United States of America. I rise today, Mr. Speaker, to call for the impeachment of the president of the United States of America for obstruction of justice.”Read more
